How does the 80-20 pareto principle translate in real life? If i study one hour per day to get 80/100 points on an exam than I'd have to study 5 hours(100%efort in this example) to get 100 points

This is kind of why geniuses tend to be lazy. You can learn several times as much easy things as you can learn hard things. But with those easy things as the basis, other things become easy. So you become a genius by constantly avoiding learning hard things and learning easy things instead. When you are not lazy, and plow through the hard stuff, you remain dumb, you keep wasting a lot of time learning things you won't really understand in the end anyway.

Absolutely based. I'm worried more about our dependence on it making it impossible to live without it. In my generation I thought you had to buy everything and didn't use my brain because I depended on it too much.
The next gen won't have any experience with a lot of DIY, you can't easily replace smd components vs soldered, they can't do house repairs, they will be glued to their phones more and I already am a bitch and can't stand animals dying. I didn't even have the heart to kill a squirrel that fell from a tree and was twitching, landing on its head, to end it's suffering.
Even if I don't give a fuck about the woods, depending on technology will make us weaker. Attractive women with severe health problems are already quite normal, and type 1 diabetes is increasingly common. I hope for a catastrophe, one that will kill the weak, myself probably included. I might survive as a sergeant if a sudden civil war occurs but likely be killed in some sort of political plot involving struggles of power, and my whole family will be exterminated to prevent uprisings.

Pareto princple has more to do accumulating succes in a non zero sum game.
I don’t know if I can wedge it into your example, but it would be something like 80% of your success comes from stuff that happened in highschool/tutoring and genes
But not really.
