That's what we call a double negative. You either have reasons to believe in God, or you don't.

It's important to understand that you can't prove a negative. You can't prove that the ghost of Hitler does not climb out of the underworld each night and perform invisible, silent (and virulently anti-Semitic) cabaret acts in your room as you sleep. We have zero evidence to contradict any of this, and even if we did none of it would conclusively prove that it doesn't happen (I could always slip in qualifying statements to justify away the evidence). But as a matter of logical analysis, it would be my job to prove that Hitler does do all this, and not your job to prove that Hitler doesn't. Until I can provide good evidence, we favour the skeptical response.

No idea if it is the actual truth, but at least from the people I know, religious ones (not necessarily Christians, though most of them are) seem in overall happier than those staunchly atheists.

My guess is that is has to do with how they view life and death. Religious people tend to have the comfort of believing life doesn't end when dead; atheists assume it is all over. Maybe that's an important factor.

Me, I'm a Catholic. Pretty happy as one too, but I don't think we religious types have a monopoly on happiness. Just that some of the more complicated elements of life, those that no one really knows how to answer conclussively, have "warmer" versions on the religious side of the field. Truth, insanity? No idea. But that doesn't really matter anyway.
