Modern music consists of an amalgamation of a lot of memes to convey meaning. Even if you're not consciously aware of it, you subconsciously connect a lot of musical concepts with specific concepts and ideals. Some connections are primal and might even be genetic in origin.

For an example, light bells might make you instinctively think about religion, and put you in that mindset. A piano will be mentally associated with class. More subtly, there are shorter motifs in songs that are associated with specific genre or subgenre of music, and those are going to carry their own subtle meaning to people who are experienced with those genre.

Music is a language into itself, and it can contain a lot of hidden meaning to those fluent in it.
