The solution should be to restrain people from feeling the need to join conversations they're not a part of. You're conflating things. Both use-value and labor-value are variables to be considered. Restricting yourself to use-value is neoclassical claptrap.

We have to keep ontology in mind. The labor theory of value is just a model. It's better than purely utilitarian models of labor, but it's obviously far from perfect. The issue is, no one managed to come up with a better one in a century and a half.
