pretty sure its a genuine part of iq tests to decide between multiple "viable" answers and pull an occam's razor. it always seems like its the brainlets complaining about ambiguity when in reality it's pretty obvious that C is the answer. there is nothing to suggest that subtracting the right from the left gives you something on the left, and math-wise that doesn't make any sense either.

its also funny how 3 people reply to you with the same answer and you latch on to the guy that gives you an easy out. you were wrong man

No, that's not in the test's statement and smarter people are the ones who will see many non-obvious patterns. Which one they see first is going to depend on too many aspects, including what they're thinking of at the moment and the overall lighting in the room and if their girlfriend is leaving them.
The point is, it's only brainlets who find the ambiguity acceptable because they're the only ones not penalized by this.

I don't give much credit to these tests, regardless of mensa being in the name.
Especially as I realised Mensa are very complimentary on their free tests in order to try and prompt people to pay to take their actual IQ tests.
In these things I always score(d) around 140 give or take 5 points depending on the test, but then at one point had to take an actual in depth IQ test which doesn't just test this sort of stuff (These online tests are usually purely pattern recognition with a couple of other 'area' questions thrown in and usually largely exaggerate your score) but also accounted speech, recognition, memory, math and quite a lot of other areas and the test took a good long while. (Obviously I should mention it depends on the institutes test and their data pool, don't remember the exact test or with whom I did it with. Was literally given it for free due to having dyspraxia and the educational institute querying whether or not I had aspergus or autism, this IQ test was given as a complimentary side query I suppose to those disputes)
On a genuine test I only scored 119 (Shamefully or whatever, it's an honest number). What was interesting in my results at the time though was how polarised they were. In a couple subjects I scored low 90's while on others I was scoring extremely high.
I suppose ultimately IQ isn't really the best measurement of intelligence but rather the capability for an individual to capitalise on their strengths and diminish the impacts of their weaknesses.
I know a few people with ridiculously high IQs (130+) and none of them (My social circle is purely anecdotal mind you) have particularly achieved much in life beyond typical middle class tier stuff and usually they're very cringe worthy and recycle reddit tier jokes when it comes to humour. Otherwise mostly just average joe in every other aspect.

For the first one, you only keep in the third box what is common to the first two. This means that E is the answer.

For the second one, you suck your own dick and find out that E is also the answer.

For the third one you break a few ribs and realize that sucking your own dick just got a bit easier, and realize A is the answer.

For the fourth one you just guess and, if your iq score was high, you know you got it right

it can be a few things. anxiety is a big one for some people. if you know that you are knowledgeable about a subject, but also know that you're not good at communicating it verbally, an anxious person will focus more on trying to get all the information out so they don't have to talk anymore. the problem is that a bunch of information that is useful to you in the context of your total knowledge of a subject is not useful to someone who doesn't have any context for what you're saying.

verbal communication is not about showing off how much you know, it's about assuming the other person doesn't know anything about what you're going to be talking about and establishing a conversational foundation. if you start at a couple of basics and then move forward from there, even if it seems redundant, you're priming the more complicated stuff into your verbal queue

Everyone in this thread could create their own ridiculous "pattern", it doesn't even need to be consistent. You could for example say "dot" has 3 letters and so does "box" so they're "equal" in that sense. But only if you read the boxes top down instead of left to right. Otherwise, forget that rule. Obviously IQ has some validity for determining intelligence, it's not a complete picture but it correlates very positively with a bunch of indicators of intelligence and success. Anything else is just cope.

It has no mechanistic basis and makes no extension of current models possible. The predictive power of the test is itself tied to ambiguous and uninformative cultural metrics. IQ fails to provide even its own standard of life outcome prediction for the very intelligent relative to one another and those slightly below the upper stratum of the intelligent.

Some validity sure. But to the extent people believe it to be here? No way.

I might be brain damaged. Second time I took it my score went down by 8. I also always fail the image recognition part of concussion tests.

Obviously it applies to whatever scope we're talking about. IQ does mean something and if you deny that you're denying that people's intelligence levels vary.

Yeah and the only people I met that I could relate with were all crazy/psychotic/neurotic because they couldn't handle reality or could never adjust to society. I have a couple normie friends and I used to hate the mundane shit they talk about but now it's just soothing to have others around.

Also too lazy to take the test but I took jt a year or two ago and got 135 or so. Been tested multiple times by shrinks and fluctuate between 130-140 so I'm just smart enough to know I'm a fucking moron. *party horn*

107 IQ here, kinda sad because I thought I would get higher. I'm 16 if that affects the score somehow.

I did 31 questions. I have done this test a few times in my life now and always get the consistent result of 128-132 even if I answer less questions.
