The ultimate consequence of Gödel's incompleteness theorems is that you can't prove you know anything. I find this to be extremely disturbing.

Can you explain how? I don't readily see it. I believe his first thm shows that there always must exist at least one thm within the system of arithmetic that you cannot prove, not that you cannot prove anything. There are a lot thms that you can prove, and I presume that the thms you can prove are something that you know. Or maybe you are thinking of the second thm which says that no system of arithmetic can prove it's own consistency, thus making it impossible to prove that any of the thms you have derived actually are true? In that case, I do see what you mean.

Those cartel beheading, gutting, delimbing videos are brutal. They are all on drugs while doing that shit. No normal human being would do such torture to another human being if they were not on some drugs which invoke demonic possesion.

Everyone around the world did exections extremely swift. Shot to head, one slice of sword and head fall off, hell even beheading takes like 3 seconds and then you pass out due the blood pressure loss.

Yes, you cannot prove a system is consistent within itself, and it's turtles all the way down. No matter what, your foundation is made of unprovable axioms. This opens the door to relative truth and alternative truth. I learned this about a decade ago, and to this day it's left me feeling a little unmoored from the reality I perceive. It was also the day I realized philosophy has legitimate merit as a field of study.

>No matter what, your foundation is made of unprovable axioms. This opens the door to relative truth and alternative truth.
Can you explain what you mean by that? Do you mean that the mathematical truth is dependent on which axioms that we choose, thus relative to the axioms, and that we can get an alternative truth by changing the axioms? And because of second incompleteness thm these truths within axiomatic system would not even be meta-true within the system. Could one go on with this s.t. there are infinitely many layers of truth nested inside each other?
>I learned this about a decade ago, and to this day it's left me feeling a little unmoored from the reality I perceive.
While Gödels results are metamathematical, mathematics seem to be extremely useful way to deal with reality, i.e. it seems be able to model reality quite well. In fact, our society has become dependent it. The possibility that worms are hiding the results we depend on is legitimately disturbing! That said, I don't readily see how Gödel's results generalize to reality itself, because I am not relevantly set on how I want to relate mathematics to reality. I am set on that mathematics is metaphysical, and that metaphysical models can align with reality to various degrees. I am also sorta set on that the many parts of metaphysical emerge from, or at least quite influenced by the physical. I am agnostic on if there are parts of platonic realm that can exist independent of the physical.

Cutting the global pop by 30% will just be a cultural curiosity after 5 years. If they're lying and the death rate is more like 60%, then the event will be burned into our cultural memory and we'll mope around for a while over it, but in the end such a steep reduction in population will mitigate the upcoming WWIII and will significantly reduce pollution.

>How fucking great would it be if the virus coincidentally wiped out the third world?
Probably not that great on the economic front. First World countries give a lot of financial aid to Third World countries, projecting on paper that this money will create much greater revenue in the future. This future revenue is counted immediately as revenue on the books of First World countries, thus helping First World countries claim they have more money than they actually do, and this allows them to pay the interest on their national debts.

With less people in the Third World, there's less people to loan money to that can generate future revenue on the First Worlders balance sheets. Suddenly, automatic increases in debt payments kick-in, and with even fewer people in the global economy, there's even fewer goods and services that can be sold or generated to make up for the sudden loss of demand. Total collapse.

It would be really great to stop all the "creative bookkeeping", and it's true, I think, that the only thing that's ever going to make that happen is some sudden crash like a deadly pandemic, but I don't think anything will be the same after that. Global supply lines will begin shutting down, food will begin shutting down, medical supplies will begin shutting down -- because the global economy as we know it will have crashed at that point.

I hope that whatever survives will be the wiser for the experience in its future incarnation, but I have no idea. I'm just a little person adrift.
