I very often forget letters in words. I know how to write them and I think about them but when I look back on notes or texts that I wrote, there are very often words with letters just missing. What's the deal with that.

I do this too but I rewrite the word as I miss letters, usually. I think it has something to do with keyboard typing. We become accustomed to pressing multiple keys at once or in quick secession, that the rhythm of handwriting gets thrown off. For me I notice I skip a letter or two ahead when writing a word.
