Since IQ is the metric most heavily correlated with socioeconomic status, we can just use GDP per capita as a stand-in and the calculated IQ will be within the standard error of an IQ test anyway.

your methodology is shit and iq isn't even a science to begin with (because psychology is pseudoscience).

I mean ... that's roughly what happened. There has been extensive testing throughout many parts of Africa.

And while they may have skipped North Korea, they've tested South Korea. So North Korea is just an unknown region. Though there might even be old data from before the Korean war, I'm not sure.

>>11329641
>use GDP per capita as a stand-in
Well, that's retarded.

Supposing you didn't do any testing, what what would you estimate Equatorial Guinea's IQ to be?

>>11329659
>north korea iq exactly the same as south korea
You're certainly correct. This isn't a reasonable inference, particularly because North Korea has had several famines, which is likely to impact IQ.

On the other hand, Korea is a very homogeneous genetic group, so it's doubtful that North Korea has any unique intelligence-related genes. Like 90% of human genetic diversity is in Africa. So I'm not sure it's really important that we don't know much about the Norks.

>> No.11329706

>>11329659
Yes and they had the same socioeconomic status until the 70s. If you were to do the tests today, you'd find South Koreans have immensely higher IQs.

what are you even on about you god damn retarded ape?

when did I ever say anything about economics. He said "IQ is heavily correlated with socioeconomic status" and I said that if thats the case then why does north korea have the same iq has south korea. And yes economics is also a pseudoscience.

Why do poltards insist on lying? Look at this heavily circulated pol "info"graph of IQ by country. The year is 2009. You telling me that North Korea had the same economy as South Korea in 2009? Why are you talking about the 70s? The study by Lynn was done in early 00s.

Furthermore, you honestly believe he went to the Congo and asked people to do IQ tests? He went to Iraq during the height of the war in Iraq and asked people to do IQ tests? You seriously believe this?

You seriously believe that Somalia has an average of 60 IQ? You realize someone with 60 IQ is basically brain dead and would require a tard wrangler to wipe one's own ass with. Yet Somalian pirates are able to orchestra large scale piracy operations that required an international task force to handle?

>why does north korea have the same iq has south korea
It probably doesn't. And Lynn is probably being unreasonable by including it in his map.

>Lynn is bullshit
>Therefore everything related to IQ is bullshit
Lynn is not widely believed. The academic consensus on IQ is still essentially so politically incorrect, that it's conclusions are only socially acceptable on /pol/.

>Furthermore, you honestly believe he went to the Congo and asked people to do IQ tests?
Lynn himself? No. He's reporting work that other people did.

Have ... have you read anything scientific? They use other people's data, you know. Lynn's writings are basically just a decision to reject or accept certain IQ tests, and developing those tests into a series of conclusions. His own tests are a small and unimportant portion of that data, and if I remember correctly, mostly tests done on people in Northern Ireland.

>He went to Iraq during the height of the war in Iraq and asked people to do IQ tests?
???

You know that you can test Iraq before or after 2004, right? Like, just because you can't go somewhere in 2004 (or whenever "the height of the war" was), doesn't mean you can't collect data on the region.

>You seriously believe that Somalia has an average of 60 IQ?
No.

(Also, not that I agree with Lynn, but he doesn't either. Look at the map. It's clearly darker than nearby regions. I'd guess he's giving it 66, or something)

>You realize someone with 60 IQ is basically brain dead
That's a ridiculous exaggeration.

>and would require a tard wrangler to wipe one's own ass with.
That's a substantial exaggeration. The typical definition of "retarded" is an IQ below 70. They are ordinarily capable of performing basic bathroom functions.

You realize that a substantial part of the reason Africa has such low IQs is previous famines, right? It's not as if the map is only measuring the heritable portion of IQ.

I just have a hard time believing that IQ tests took place. I don't care enough to read the testing method but I'm sure if I looked it would just be GDP per capita that's being used as a standin. Even then the rich oil arabs are given low scores for some reason because their GDP has to be discarded for some (((reason))) to make them 80 IQ.
