As of 2016, there were 3,007 counties, 64 parishes, 19 organized boroughs, 10 census areas, 41 independent cities, and the District of Columbia for a total of 3,142 counties and county-equivalents in the U.S.
Most (all?) have them have independent school boards. And that's not even considering private schools.

It's like watching people argue about whether x is legal, as though the laws are the same everywhere.

But yeah, it's safe to assume US public schools are shit.

I am euro and we only do some intro to complex numbers amongst what you said. Also a very weak bit of pure geometry, as in constructions, if you choose that path.
