Because they hype themselves up like crazy. But as soon as you learn anything about what they are talking about, the facade falls apart and you'll quickly realize that 1: they don't even know what their talking about and 2: the stuff they are trying to impress you with isn't that deep at all.

It's alright, you can get a pretty good job and you'll be exposed to plenty of notions in rigorous mathematics like proofs, logics, algebras, that kind of things.

Not particularly better or worse than any other degree, but as usual, it might be a good fit for you or it might not.
