Is dark matter the gravitational force from objects in another universe? Or is that not a theory at all, and just me misremembering?

>> No.11297566

anon, i can tell you are posting this because you think you came up with a theory. i can assure you that braneworld cosmologists have probably entertained this idea already, so you are out of luck.

to answer your question, no, dark matter is not that. nobody knows what dark matter is. lots of theories exist but none have been borne out so far. the wacky theory you reference is not better than anything out there, nor is it new or unique in any way, it's just shit, sorry

How would "matter" be caused by a "force" ?

How would "rhetorical questions" make any "difference"?

(protip: pseuds should leave)

Sure it's a theory. Just 100% untestable so why even bother with it.

OP, you don't understand the difference between mass and force, I am not the pseud here

>> No.11297596

>>11297585
dark matter is empirically confirmed. the observations exist and the problem is that theories are lacking.

>>11297586
not OP. however, you are the pseud because the relationship between forces and mass is known very well. there's another thread about the higgs mechanism on this board where anons have described why the strong force accounts for a substantial part of the mass of the proton and neutron. force and mass have a well known relationship in quantum field theory so stop with your bullshit rhetorical questions

Buddy, the IP count didn't increase when you posted. Just stop.

Dark matter doesn't seem to interact strongly even with itself. We can tell this by the spherical halos it forms. There's no collisions happening to collapse it into a disk, which is what would happen if it were just ordinary matter in another universe leaking gravity into ours.

>> No.11297718

youre theory is correct but it's actually the other dark thing and the og dark thing is by emergent gravity
