so malt liquor is 8.1% alcohol by volume in 24 ounce containers for $1.75
sherry is also available at 17% abv in 16 ounce containers for $3.00

assuming i have to stay pretty lit 24/7 or else the shakes come, what option will sustain me longer for less money? how do i go about finding the answer?

do the math faggot

Spoiler: sherry is cheaper per volume of alcohol but malt liquor is easier to drink

plus malt liquor hydrates me more and i am super dry after that last vodka bender. only problem is i hate buying from the mongoloid at the beer shop.

i guestimated sherry to be cheaper. to find the exact ratio i do abv*fl oz (/$) to find that
0.081 * 24 = 1.944
1.75/1.944 = .90 drunkenness efficiency ratio
for malt liq

and then
.17* 16 = 2.72
2.72/ 3.00 = .90666 drunkenness efficiency

so its practically negligible, right? i am paying same alcohol price for each. or did i mess up my math

>>11282332
wait i fucked up. god dammit.

3.00/2.72 = 1.102 drunkenness

I learned optimization in leaf highschool grade 11, problems were just comparisons of building materials, like how to enclose the largest space with a fence using the least money.
All you have to do is reduce one of the variables, ABV is constant per unit volume so convert 8.1% and 24 ounce to 1.94 ounces alcohol, sherry to 2.72 ounces alcohol, make each it's own function vs money and see which is cheaper depending on the quantity you want, with the restriction that you can only purchase every 16th or 24th ounce quantity, But we reduced ABV % so you'd only be able to purchase a multiple of 1.94 or 2.72 on the y axis.

malt liquor gives you 1.1oz of alcohol per dollar while sherry gives you about .9oz of alcohol per dollar.

1.944 / 1.75 = 1.108

2.72/300= 90.66
but what does it MEAN.
how can i three variables .

ok thanks i will reevalute this when i get my beer.
you guys i was trying to get back into math for real like i bought a scratch pad and ruler and compass and protractor and i went through all the practice geometry problems on libremath website but then it started being fucked up like i couldnt find the "correct" answer for the life of me even if i paid money so i decided i need to buy a real hard textbook

The Sherry is 22% more expensive per unit of alcohol.

depends on the textbook, there some good free ones for below postgrad level mathematics, otherwise use libgen
what were you using before?

For sure, don't underestimate the value of a highschool textbook if you're starting from scratch. Resist the urge to skip entire sections because you think you already understand them. If you are bored, take a moment to seriously reflect upon if you are bored because the material is too low-level or if you are bored because you are not actually interested in the subject material. Wishing you all the best in dealing with your alcoholism.

no wrong. alcohol per dollar, not dollar per alcohol.
so 1.94/1.75
and 2.72/3
it comes out to malt liquor having more alcohol per dollar

>>11282349
>how can i three variables .
no it is 2 variable ratio. alcohol per dollar.

I took ASVAB practice test at recruiters for shits and giggles and a lot of questions where like that.
