Deforestation in 3rd world countries is the problem, notably in south america in the Amazon, they are not feeding us, but feeding other countries, as Americans like their meat locally raised. In the US, there are enough open plains and open grasslands still available for even more cattle to graze without having to deforest. Also, large companies in the US replant entire forests, and use cycle planting/lumbering to replenish and attempt to create sustainable lumbering. On top of that, they have begun trying to implement mass hydroponic planting in huge warehouse with multi-levels, and also using old mines to farm as well. I came across an interesting article where a botanist was attempting to breed/create super foliage and trees to convert oxygen faster and in larger amounts. Things are not as gloom and doom as they see, but we could definitely use more brain power being thrown at the problem, as well as far more sustainability measures. Notably, getting off plastic and going to glass. Also, there is that inventor who is creating a giant looking stingray machine to skim the top of the ocean to collect plastic and debris. What worries me far more than farming and cattle raising are the oceans, mass fishing and mass pollution. The loss of the oceans is where all effort should be focused right now.

You think planting 20 million trees or whatever is going to prevent the billions of tons of carbon we pump out EVERY YEAR? Literally just one spark and some dry conditions and the "super forest" is gone, just like that, all that work wasted.

And plastic? Cmon that stuff is cheap, you're convincing nobody and no company "hur dur here's an inferior product, less durable, and guess what? You have to pay MORE to get LESS! Yeah, we could probably stand to remove some of the massive amount of plastic in the ocean, but what are we going to do with it? You know the other 2 parts of the song the come before recycle. You know reduce and reuse. Plastics are great for many reasons and have plenty of uses. But maybe just spend 25 cents on a reausable grocery bag or 10 dollars on a water bottle one time. It's crazy how much waste could be saved if people just bought reusable plastics.

Climate change is the problem of the rich and priviledged.The west had a large period of industrialization which was all faciliated by coal and oil due to which they are rich,fat and happy now and the east is going through the same period now to become developed,so learn about your history before you start feeling superior and hypocritically criticizing other countries .The east has as much right to make itself rich through using fossil fuels like the west did.

Most people in the east would love to have a lifestyle where their biggest priority and problem is climate change.They have more immediate and survival concerns like÷food,running water,electricity etc and they are busy providing for their family to spend their time to virtue signal on a internet forum..
