nope and I'm getting sick of this meme
there is ZERO evidence that T-REX had ANY feathers
there is good evidence it was scaly on the entire body
if it had feathers, it was almost certainly some kind of crest or "mane" only

they found a couple fossils of terapods in cold areas with imprints of fur-like feathers (presumably to keep warm)
now idiots are drawing parakeets with teeth and gigantism

Combination of contrarianism and clickbait pop sci articles. Same motivation for saying "ACKTCHUALLY CAVEMEN WEREN'T STRONG AND HIGHLY CAPABLE HUNTERS BUT INSTEAD TIMID EMACIATED SCAVENGERS AND BERRY PICKERS."

yes it is
T-Rex had scales. Other large dinos had scales. We have evidence for that. Plenty in fact.
We also have evidence that some smaller, more or less distantly related dinos living in completely different areas and in a different time had fibrous "feathers"
What's up to debate is whether T-Rex had some kind of leftover tupee or not (I think it might) and how hairy exactly the smaller ones were.

It's like with large mammals. Rhinos, elephants, hippos, etc. are all (almost) completely bald. They don't need fluffy cover to keep the heat in because their bodies have sufficient thermal mass.

Dude, it looks like a bird, the chicken is it's descendant, it acted like a bird. Common sense will tell you we wouldnt find feathers on a skeleton so of course we made the mistake at the time. But now we know. It probably looked like a big chocobo. Of course it had feathers, regardless of what your sci 105 professor tells you.

>> No.11250170

yes, of course they had feathers. It was just by chance that the first major dinosaur finds were more Komodo dragon-like in appearance and some sort of meme got going that they were scaly. But anyone looking at a bird-like dinosaur skeleton such as the t-rex, with no prior concept of a 'dinosaur', would tell you that it's a giant bird.
