How do we explain the abnormal prevalence and persistence of schizophrenia? There's the theory that our tribes needed shamans and a religion to maintain unity so it was incentivized, there's another theory that it's a byproduct of language evolution, or perhaps the other one that says that promoting extreme delusions can be highly beneficial for personal gain in primitive societies, or maybe the other 10 or so all saying the same thing - the evolutionary benefits outweigh the negatives.
So what's happening here, /sci/?

Schizophrenia is the subconscious mind rebeling against the realization that our modern society is a slave state that uses clever tricks to try and conceal that, but once you have looked under the curtain it is hard to go back.

Imagine visiting an oldtime slave plantation. The slaves are anxious, manic, depressed. Is that the slaves fault, or is it a result of them being treated like slaves?

Our work is fucked. Its a fuedalist slave system where a class of people are literally just printing money for themselves and then using those slavetokens to bid for our labor in the slavemarket, and if we refuse the process they take our food and shelter from us. There are other ways.

Because there will always be someone who wants to point the finger at another individual and then claim to one group or another that said person indicated warrants an extra label.

Shamans however were actually 'sanity explorers'. Deep mental thought and language construction with non-audible sources or simply shapes vs seasons are still intensive tasks. When the Shaman is done with their spirit journey they come and deliver a 'message to the people'.

Same as religious messiahs but with less world domination bullshit involved.
