Nice question OP. I also have a question about sunbeams : given that we know exactly where they came from, we can pinpoint their momentum to an extremely high precision. Also we can detect them and pinpoint their position. How does this not violate Heisenberg's uncertainty principle?

You need to visualise them as ripples emanating from the sun.
There are no "beams",
It's concentric circles moving outwards as waves, these waves use the background EMF as a medium.
Light is just ripples in an electromagnetic 3 dimensional ocean.
