Could be manifestation of hominid admixture such as neander and homosapien. Neaderthal has larger brain cavities, the genetic manifestation of that brain develop in a homo sapien skull cavity may lead to cellular density that leads to atypical development.
Brain structure doesn't garuntee outcomes and likely causes many on the autism spectrum to not get the proper stimuli needed for integration into society.
