Is it more energy effective to bike 10 km, walk 10 km or jog 10 km?

>> No.11154747

>>11154742
It takes way more energy to walk let alone jog than to use a bicycle.

>> No.11154767

Walk it. Go for a nice walk.

>> No.11154791

>>11154747
No it doesn't. Running and cycling uses more energy, which is why 10 minutes of running or cycling will burn more calories than 10 minutes of walking.

Except you will cover vastly more distance in less time cycling for those calories.

Not him, but that's expensive and doesn't make you live longer.
Also, it's easy to not get hit, especially running and walking, so don't say that.

You'd burn fewer calories biking over a given distance since you're using a machine as a work multiplier. Between walking and jogging I imagine jogging would consume fewer calories since the increased burn rate doesn't make up for the shorter time spent doing it.

No.

"Brisk walking" 10km burns about 2Mj, or about 500Cal. Or about one Big Mac, or whatever Freedom units Americunts happen to use these days.

Bicycling 10km burns about 1.2Mj, or about 250Cal. Or about one McDonalds Hamburger, or whatever Freedom units Americunts happen to use these days.

It depends on the terrain. Bike is no good in a swamp and bad on grass, but amazing on asphalt.
