high stakes paper plane duel in 3 hours
I need one that goes far

>> No.11136108

just compress the paper into a high-density block and throw it really far.

Just make a longest flight record holder plane.

Practice throwing, it's important.

I've been making these since the 1980s. They seem to be pretty good.

This is a good one but be careful with the stabilizer fins. If its unbalanced, its just gonna twirl in a circle rather than glide far. If you are just going for straight distance rather than overall the basic underfold glider is your best bet. Double underfold is best but rng wind fucks em up. I was autistic about paper airplanes when I was young. A tail folder aileron can help but typically leads your plane to stall and then fall outta the air. Depending on how you are setup, a heavier nose can be better to stabilize flight.

Did you get to the, "humidity changes alter flight dynamics, due to paper weight and moisture content," point? I'm not saying that I did, but I did.

Kinda but more in terms of weight distribution. Me and my buds were doing experiments with spray markers(markers that had a blow tube on them, so the vapor rested on the paper) and ink fixatives to add rigidity/weight to certain areas. With this, we kept finding certain paper weights would absorb at better rates etc. Funny enough we found that fixative laden construction paper thats been sanded and polished for smooth flight surface was basically perfect. Once polished, you could have what we called the centennial paper plane, a paper plane that could last a century. My buddy gave away our last version of it to a crush he had, and after he moved away, no more autistic experiments. :L

Make a normal one but fold the nose inwards

>> No.11138470

>>11138465
don't forget to put the folds face down, the uneven flight surface caused by having them face up introduces turbulence and reduces overall flight stability and consistency

So, I bet OP is dead by now since he lost his duel.

i have to know what the duel was about?

girl?
money?
slavery?
irl death?

A shape like a rocket with fins for stabilization and perhaps a bit of mass added at the tip and thrown like a football will demolish the competetition, but everyone will hate you for subverting the spirit of the competition which will be organized around conventional designs. Ignore this pressure. Destroy the competition anon

>> No.11139916

>>11136106
make it into a cylinder and spin it as you throw it.

>> No.11139945

is op kill?

>> No.11139952

Question: What do stabilizer fins even do? I cant see how they... oh wait

is it that due to the flat top of the main wing theres lower pressure inside the fin than outside, and the fins just use this effect for lateral forces?
