What do you think would be the sociological effects of people being able to live basically indefinitely?

Would the lack of a threat of death mean people could just continue doing what they do in their 20s like drink, smoke, vidya, since their close family would never die and therefore not deprive them of loving connection?
I'd imagine those in longrun loving relationships would eventually become into open relationships or perhaps relationships of any kind simply dissolve over a great enough time
On the other hand, maybe after reaching an escape velocity human people would grow inextricably linked together through a snowballed familiarity bias..
Thoughts?

Well you should better care, unless you want to live forever as a divorced old man, or kill yourself as a result before society figures itself and the universe out and we create something approximating utopia

my life doesn't revolve around pussy, so that's not a problem. quite frankly i've been considering castration to extend my life span anyway. had several gfs and honestly it's just not worth all the bullshit.

I'm pretty sure if we figure out how to cure ageing then preserving monogamy and interest in someone so just not being a slut basically is a pretty fuckin simple task in comparison.

The wealth gap would increase. We would have immortal business moguls and highly trained individuals while the lower class remains mortal. Having immortal politicians with a lifetime tenure would suck.
You would need a life purpose to fulfill to prevent yourself from becoming hedonistic and suicidal. I would chill in a cabin for a few decades while reading and writing, and watching civilizations rise and collapse. I would probably run out of things to do eventually and choose to die.

Also if I could choose to, I would allow Leonardo Da Vinci to live forever. He would probably survive for many, many millennia before running out of things to study.

Population growing at a very fast rate, leading to resources scarcity and thus war.
