EE’s and CPE’s take all but four classes together in my uni. All of the ones EEs take are math-heavy circuits or signals classes. Meanwhile, the CPEs have to take softball programming/computer architecture classes. I don’t think the job prospects are any different to be honest

How is mechanical engineering a dead degree? The job growth rates are very good and there will soon be a big increase in demand when boomers retire, and on top of that, zoomers are picking engineering at a much lower rate than other generations. This will have a compound effect on demand.

Law is useless and oversaturated. Unless you have connections and go to a top school, you won't find work. There's 20k Law graduate everywhere and less than 10k jobs, and they're shrinking (in the UK).

Medicine is financially lucrative because the supply of doctors is kept artificially low by a strong medicine lobby, that is well connected to people in circles of power.

Engineering and computer science are financially lucrative, or can be.

Because colleges are biased for them. A girl I know from HS took no calc, no physics, no programming, no shop, no robotics, and still got in despite being the most selective program. My uni was also caught "accidentally" submitting the wrong admission stats to seem more selective.

Engineering Physics major here, in my uni my major was originally from Nuclear Engineering. It's a mix of everything, from stuff like system control and process, sensor, electronic stuff like that, renewable energy, acoustic and thermal design of a building, optics, renewable energy (photovoltaic, geothermal, biomass, wind, and even ocean wave), to stuff like artificial intelligence. It is really a mess.

I believe that engineering has the highest dropout/change of any major. Most engineering students will get fucked on calc 2, though there is also surprising amount that’ll burnout on the first two years of chem that they have to take. I’m non stem btw
