I always ignored this and took the point hit. Citing things MLA style takes a good few hours and the end result looks even worse. The psychological perception of MLA will make them think you are an amatuer and will bias them to grade the rest of it more harshly. By forgoing it, they recognize you at the very least are a galaxy brain and can only take off the minute amount of points for proper citation.
