>goofed off during high school
>barely passed my math courses
>don’t remember shit from any of them
>realise as an adult how important math is and that I require a good understanding of it to fulfill my aspirations
>don’t know where to start
What should I do bros? So much of what interests me requires math.

Go take math, programming, and physics courses at your local community college. You should be able to get an A if you put in a little effort.

Khan academy. People here love to shit on it, but it’s perfectly fine as long as you supplement the videos with extra practice problems from a textbook. Ask again when you reach ODEs.

get a load of this nigger. no khan academy is normie tier garbage. best way to learn is through goo books. start with algebra and real analysis. then advance to linear algebra and ODE's respectively. From there, you have the freedom to pursue whatever in particular. Shouldnt actually take long if you move to a forest, stop fapping, live like our ancestors had and work hard. Godspeed anon

I'd rather learn via University of Madras lectures.

Basic Mathematics by Serge Lang.

What books are good for those? When do you get to trigonometry in those books?

>> No.11111496

for the basics im not sure. I hear Lang is a meme but Im sure it will suffice. For algebra, michael artin for advanced and otherwise can be found in any introductory calculus text. As for trig, im not really sure in all honesty. All you really need to know is what periodic functions and some basics of how triangles work

don't let /sci/ meme you into learning real analysis and autistic abstract algebra before you even have the basics out if the way.

It's not that hard. You just have to work with it and I don't mean doing only dumbfuck excercises but also think about the axioms and why equations look how they look like, a bit like you would contemplate about existence and life. This is for developing an intuitive understanding. Supplement this with text books and excercises.
To get the right thought framework start with mathematical logic (Cantor, Gödel, axioms...). Also learn programming. It's a similar way of thinking and you can use (and get good with) logic casually to solve actual problems. You also see the result. This is a bit harder with math alone. You definitively want something with a type system. So don't do garbage like python, javascript.. C# is good because you have oop. generics, lambdas, type classes (incoming), delegates.... If you want to stay more on the math side then Haskell is your choice.
