To be fair, it's because it makes no sense sometimes. Like how the fuck do inches and radians cancel each other out? Fuck units.

Name one time rads cancel inches

>> No.11107714

Angular speed to linear speed.
5 rad/sec * 5 inch = 25 inch/sec
My physics teacher told me that rads just go away somehow. My precalc teacher told me it is technically inch/rad(ius), so the cancelation works. Both sound like brain damage.

>> No.11107724

>>11107714
Nothing is cancelling there. Radians are dimensionless. 1 inch × 1 radian = 1 inch.

>> No.11107725

>>11107714
they don't "go away somehow", they were never there in the first place. rad is literally 1.

1 Radian is the angle subtended by two radii separated by an arc length of one radius.

If only we had a better unit if time

>> No.11108216

>>11108118
We do have a good unit! 60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour, 24 hours a day. Base 60 and 24 are both very sensible. The (((metrics))) actually did attempt to decimalize the measurement of time with 10 hour days, months that were 10 days long, etc. Guess what? It was a steaming pile of garbage and they could get nobody onboard.
