what is going to happen; a year, 5 years a decade, 20 years, after warp drive invention how will it impact every day life? how long after its invention would it take for humanity to become a interstellar species.
before alll the retards come out and say
>"hur dur youd need a jupiter mass of negative energy"
the warp drive has been revised and current geometries would require 700kgs of negative mass or even less for the Natario Warp drive, which may need only need micrograms of negative mass to go 200c.

all white people would have noped the fuck out of here, only leaving planet of the apes behind

warp drive will never exist

>>11069421
why not? the maths is accepted to checkout, the only thing that is holding it back is the amount of negative mass and current fields would only require 500kgs instead of a jupiter mass

It will be so far into the future that we will be running on black holes, baseline humans will be no more, and there will be hundreds of quintillions of humand descendants on the solar system alone.

i personally would accelerate an asteroid to relativistic speeds into a collision course with every planet in the solar system destroying everything. so if you like this solar system dont let me have access to warp drives. also any space stations and other plants you try and hide on are toast. i will destroy all humans if i am able to

>> No.11074052

Warp drives will never exist because it requires more energy than all the mass-energy in the universe.

The universe only contains 4*10^46 J while letting a single electron go faster than the speed of light would require about 1*10^226 J.

You'd basically need to consume 4*10^180 universes worth of energy just to make a single electron move faster than the speed of light. It's just never going to happen even if it were theoretically possible.

>> No.11075143

>>11074052
It's not about moving mass faster than the speed of light, it's about curving space-time around the mass.

If we had magic warp drives today it would still take centuries for humanity to spread out just to get the orbital infrastructure and locate planets even worth colonizing. In the immediate future the first drives would be built in orbit and would be incredibly complex and expensive so in 20 years their might be as many as nuclear capacity nations 20 years after the atomic bombings. If these drives can bring back economically viable asteroid minerals then the price of some commodities would drop which is probably not good for Earth based mining economies but a boon for post scarcity and further orbital manufacture going on the centuries time scale.

>negative mass particles
They are negative mass quasi-particles i.e. collective excitations. They are not fundamentally negative mass particles, and cannot be used to make a warp drive.

Warp drives are unnecessary for galactic civilization and make too many causality problems anyway.

Will never happen. We can't even send men back to the moon. And as society becomes more consumer focused, creativity and open mindedness will die as companies will just produce cheap plastic shit.

If you dont think the warp drive is possible or ftl is possible then you shouldnt be in science or engineering.

The minds of the great have, throughout all of history, made the impossible into reality.

What makes you think an interstellar humanity is any different from the conquests of the past?

>> No.11078733

the conquests of the past didn't involve time travel

You dont need any negative mass, or all that much energy. You just need tripolar magnetic fields. David "Cunt Destroyer" Pares is on it.
