How long till we can discuss things with AI and meaningful relationships with them?

BERTs are already better at discussing meaningful topics than women.

>How long till AI is advanced enough for conversations?
20 years. xD
First we have to discover how 'sentience', 'cognition', and other phenomena of living brains all actually work. Then we can try to build machines that have the same properties. Until then we only have fake-ass shit and shitty 'deep learning algorithms', which are not even close.

but aren't brains just the same type of logic gates that neural networks are?

I do not need my robo-wife to have deep existential conversations with.
I want her to cook, clean the house, make the bed, and spit polish my love pump.

Based.
I bought this smart vaccuum cleaner and I would absolutely rank it over my last gf in terms of how much it makes my life better.
I only have to clean the floor myself once every 2-3 weeks or so now and can finally have a dog without having to spend 1 or 2 hours every week doing it.

If I had another robot to prepare the breakfast and put shit at their places it would be even better.

this. codemonkeys have been writing high dimensional linear regressions for years and, as it's becoming apparent, these models are profoundly limited in engaging in actual conversation or thoughts

You seem obsessed anon. What have incels to do with that?
I just said I'm happy a robot is lifting some weight from my shoulders and being a better homemaker than my ex gf.

Brains are are higher dimension holograms produced and maintained through chemical means via the nerons in your head. You should by no means compare their miracle to the relatively rudimentary von neumann machines that we use today.

This is my prediction: assuming you arent intentionally trying to turing test the machine, but talk to it as if it was a human.

basic digital "personalities" that hold conversations soundly, remember things and develop themselves, but clearly dont have human intelligence.

The hardware is already here. You just can't even see what's already in front of your nose.
