There can be different evolutionary pathways that adapt to the same climate. So a lot of “brown” people living in the arctic or cold areas with little sun exposure have evolved epicanthic folds and they often manage to get enough meat to supply them with vitamin D. Meanwhile Scandinavia and Europe is a less biodiverse environment than Siberia so there was always less food there.

Where do you even see that quote btw? Most ottoman slaves were captured in Europe by sea from France/Spain/Italy/Ireland/England or by land in the Balkans Central Europe or Russia.

There is a ALOT of cope with the ottoman slavery trade. Europeans don’t want to admit they were enslaved en masse by the millions for centuries.

It’s everywhere you look though. Even in period literature.

Voltaire’s Candide has him and the females enslaved by Turks.

Miguel de Cervantes was himself a slave for ten years in Turkey; he later wrote Don Quixote.

I used to be interested in history before studying graduate level biology. One of the reasons I left it is because there is a lot of propaganda and politics in history that makes it difficult to tell the truth about controversial topics like this. White nationalists and liberal triumphalists alike don’t like the idea of white slavery by ottomans because it disrupts their narrative story about Europe and the world. But the documentary evidence and sheer material evidence is astounding. We are talking a slavery on the scale of African chattel slavery but of whites and in the same exact period.

So I don’t think Europeans have a sole claim to “white” heritage, most of Europe was sparsely populated when the central Asians got there so there was a big genetic impact but most Europeans are also mixed with WHG/EHG/EEF

The end result all look different from the original central asian cadre. It’s not like they all looked like Europeans in the start. They probably had epicanthal folds and looked like what Bashkir or Chuvash people look like today with light hair being a sizable minority.

India and east Africa and Middle East already had large populations so they were absorbed but still had a large impact.

In Europe the classic blue eyed blond look is not from the central Asians it is from EHG and WHG. Closest pop today is balts.
