So how did you excel in Linear Algebra? I whizzed past Calculus II and it came super easy (as it should, as I've been told here) but Linear Algebra has been giving me struggles. My quiz average right now is 83% whereas my Calculus 2 quizzes averaged 98%.

I feel like I'm playing mental gymnastics but keep tripping up

I was in the same place last semester. I usually get 95+ but with Lin Algebra, I was getting 70-80's. The class average was abysmal too. I finished the class with an A and a 92% on the final. It just takes time to gain the necessary intuition. Also, yes, calc is supposed to be much easier. I was doing calc 3 at the time and it was nowhere even near 1/3 the difficulty of lin algebra (or so I thought at the time; looking back, the subject matter looks pretty easy and trivial- chalk it up to hindsight I suppose).

I can't even do basic arithmetic. Check your IQ privilege bigots.

not even about IQ, its mostly about trying. most folks today are just to mentally ill, deranged, and addicted to their mobile phones that little in the way of actual competition is left. On top of this, with libgen, you can access just about any information and resources to learn from. Its one of the few things I am very grateful for.

It's a different sort of math. Just keep working at it and rest assured that your professor will probably curve.

I'm taking my first lin alg course right now and it feels like 90% of the course is just knowing the terminology

You know all those equivalent statements you keep seeing? Every time you think you have to use one, don't use that one. Substitute it for a different one. Then substitute it for another one. And the other one. Until you've used every single one. This is how you get good at Linear Algebra, and it will prepare you for getting gud at math.

What do you mean by equivalent statements?

easy as fuck with a geometric approach. still pretty easy in general.
I skipped calculus and went to analysis.
