Is it worth forcing myself to be social? Going to uni soon. Also I ask specifically towards my peers - I'm a tryhard so I'll prob cozy up to my prof. anyway.

>> No.10962362

holy shit I went through this so fucking hard, also one of the professors I got to write my letter decided to fuck around and submit it late which almost disqualified me from my target school

I literally drove to the office of the head of the department and begged him to still accept my application

I initially went to the HR lady who was doing the mail and she was like "nah, go get fucked"

YES. DO IT.
Whether or not you get a job at all is 50% governed by your ability to interact with people. Networking will save your fucking life, join some clubs and get to know the people you plan on sharing an industry with.

This is why I'm a NEET now.
I realized that I'm not destined to be a participant in this world, but merely an observer.

People aren't that bad anon.
I recommend you read the combined edition of Dale Carnegie's works, "How to win friends and influence people" and "how to stop worrying and start living."
Don't be afraid. Get out there, lest you make the same mistakes I did.
Don't worry about exploring the online world, explore the real world.

Well, anon, if you want to have the best chance of success you're going to want some friends.
If you want to get good with people, you'll have to start somewhere so I recommend finding clubs with other people in your field of study to start out. It should be easy to get along with them because you'll be like-minded.

Well, Anon, at least you won't be alone. Feeling alone is easily the worst of all the feelings you can have while going through some of the most important years of your life.

funny.

no, i'm knee deep in little robotic gremlins from the east, with whom i have nothing in common. also they don't form clubs, i don't know what they do in their spare time. probably they return to some sort of regeneration tank for DNA repair procedures and to receive their new directives from whoever sent them here.

You can not be anti-social and at university for five (or more) years. You have to group with other people, you have to talk in front of a crowd, you have to visit tons of places.

The role of the university (and of the school in general) is also to socialize humans.
