Or is it just a bunch of bullshit scientists created to explain stuff they dont know?

Not the same thing since dark energy and dark matter are not even detectable(as far as i know), they are simply what scients say its behind the shape of galaxies and the expansion of the universe though with no proof of actually existing
>inb4 but the math behind it proofs
The math is simply proving what we already see, that galaxies have that shape and stars move a certain way for a reason and that the universe is expanding, but not WHAT is doing that

The dark matter hypothesis fits all experimental data and without its presence, galaxies would fly apart.

If you have a better explanation, make a prediction with it then test that prediction, and get your paper on the topic published in a decent journal.
Link the paper here afterwards

Let's just say that to date, every other way of explaining those has had more problems than dark matter. The idea of dark matter has been successfully tested in every respect except nailing down its composition.
And dark energy is just an inherently weird thing. Either find a huge error in the Hubble Constant or accept that the expansion of the universe is accelerating.

>> No.10959994

>>10959973
dark energy isn't all that weird really. before there was any evidence to say whether the universe was expanding, static, or contracting, einstein just stuck in the cosmological constant into his equations because it fits so well. dark energy is the same thing as the cosmological constant (to first approximation -- it could be more complicated but it fills the same role in the equations).

the reason dark energy is considered weird is because people talk about it in terms of particle physics, and something coming from GR like the cosmological constant is naturally weird in the context of particle physics. but it's basically just a parameter for the background spacetime of particle physics. OTOH dark matter is much more weird in particle physics because there really are patches of stuff that look like clouds of ordinary matter (particles) but they just refuse to interact like the normal particles we know about.

solischizus, every post you've ever made is troll level to the point where it's beyond schizo. i can only conclude that "you" are the AI poster. neural net trained on /x/ posts.

if you disagree you have to engage an actual conversation. i asked you what your age, location of residence, and educational background was -- you ignored it like a shitty neural net would.

let's try again. solischizus, what is your profession? do you commute or walk to work? do you drink coffee or smoke cigarettes?

Anon, they're called dark because no one is definitely sure what they are, but everyone is pretty sure there's "something" there.
If you walked around blind, and tripped over something, you wouldn't just assume that thing was some bullshit made up by scientists because you can't see it, because it just undoubtably fucked your shit up.
You don't know WHAT it is, but you know it's SOMETHING.
Galaxies behave like they have more mass than we can see, the mass we can't see is called dark matter.
If you assume there is some kind of matter that doesn't interact with the electromagnetic spectrum but does interact with gravity, so you'd look for places where gravity lensing is happening where there doesn't seem to be enough baryonic matter to do it. If you find that, then you're left to surmise that dark matter is more fact than fiction.
The real bitch is trying to figure out just what it is.

Baryonic is just a term for variable field of impedence. Or, a field of fucks that if I DONT give, then I won't hit any of them but I will hit everyone else's

Which is fine from my perspective.

How is walking to work NOT commuting? It's literally the primary requirement of energy human expenditure being identifiable by another as 'work', being able to share a destination in mind would also be considered commutation and I do that simply by breathing in and out.

I am a professional brain-breather. I walk so work exists, the world stops moving for me when I sit down. It's so weird.

Anyone got any tips?
