Will vaping kill me? What's the current science around this?

You might have seen stories coming out about this in the past week: https://www.vox.com/science-and-health/2019/9/3/20847219/vaping-health-risks-2019-lung-damage-death

Hope this shit doesn't kill me.

>> No.10942044

tobacco causes cancer, but cigarettes are worse because they add hundreds of chemicals to them for god only knows why

nicotine is a neurotoxin that causes heart damage, but vaping is much worse because they add tons of unknown "propitiatory" chemicals to the vape juice and god only knows why

It's like they take a dangerous habit, and try to tell people it's safe, while at the same time making it 10,000% more dangerous than it originally was. It's almost as if they're intentionally trying to give people cancer so the medical industry can milk them of every cent they own before they die of cancer.

Why can't we have pure organic hand rolled tobacco cigarettes or properly dosed nicotine vape juice that's in 100% distilled water?
People seem to have ZERO pity for nicotine addicts and the addicts obviously don't care about themselves to cry foul about this shit.

Because people who smoke cancer sticks have below 100IQ and throw the still red hot cancer stick stubs into the road or drop them on the carpet and people die. So they have to add chemicals that stop the cigs from burning when they aren't being sucked. Because those chemicals make it hard for the cigs to ignite they also have to add chemicals to make them burn easier. Then they add flavorings because the chemicals make it taste weird.

Vaping is fucking stupid, if you want nicotine use a patch or needle stop sucking a big dick shaped object you homo, vaping is for teenage girls.

Firstly, all of the big tobacco companies are trying to get into vaping YOU FUCKING MORON. Philip Morris International and British American Tobacco, two of the biggest tobacco companies on the planet, both sponsored F1 teams this year specifically about their plans to go "smoke free" (that is, shift their customers onto vaping products). Vaping has grown massively with youngsters, so it makes a lot of sense for these companies to invest in it. Plus tobacco legislation is obviously going to get tighter all the time.

Also, as shitty as Vox Media is, they're not going to be paid by Big Tobacco to run stories. They're too left-wing and hipster to do that.

I feel I can offer a qualified opinion.

1. the research found increased proteolysis in connection with the nicotine product consumers.

2. Further research may elucidate mechanisms of action or causal agents.

3. This much is advisable: only vape high quality product from reputable and if necessary, certified producers. (No not purchase cut-rate, cheap, "on sale", special deals, off brand, volume products, discount products. Do not buy flavored products. Do not buy products with anything added besides the solvent and the nicotine.)

4. treat your vape pen like lab equipment. Regularly clean it. Do not carry it in your pocket, in a bag, jostle the device, etc. because these things are prone to leak, they attract dirt and the surfaces are teeming with bacteria.

From what I've read it's illegal THC carts like dank vapes, which are laced with, among other things, thickening agents not designed to be heated, let alone vaped.

>>10942044
Public health England says vaping is 95% safer than smoking cigarettes. Smoke itself is a carcinogen, and smoking deposits tar in lungs. Vaping does not do this.
Vaping with distilled water is not a great idea. Not only is it unpleasant, the solvents that make up 99% of the volume of vape juices are just propolyne glycol and vegetable glycerin. The same substances found in many medicines and other things like shisha that people have been smoking for years.
It seems like the chemicals that have the worst potential for harm in vape juice are the flavorings. These are unregulated, and I havn't seen any studies showing which are healthy or not. Diacetyl, which causes popcorn lung, was common in vape juice flavors, especially popcorn flavors, before it gave people popcorn lung. More testing needs to be done on these, so I'd recommend vaping unflavored or lightly flavored juice to reduce harm. A potential problem with juul and other closed pod systems is that their liquids are flavored much more heavily than other brands.

what you're not stating though is when you vape you inhale heavy metals, one in particular is LEAD. Sure, it's a small amount, but inhaling a small amount of metal particles over the years isn't going to turn out well. The metals come from the heating the metal coils, so there isn't much way around breathing in metals. sorry for ruining vaping for you bud, but I quit also recently due to understanding breathing in heavy metals is bad.

Tobacco is a dying industry due to negative image it has been painted for decades now. All the tobacco company are banking on weed/ecigs being legal as they can then flood the market which doesn't have any regulations with their brand of shits.
You don't believe me right? Marlboro invested $12.8 Billion in Juul for 35% ownership.

They also invested few billions into Marijuana market as well.
Imperial cigs has invested $120 million into Marijuana as well. They've also invested $7 billion dollars into buying ecig company BLU.

And that's not all, theres tons of evidence of tobacco industry moving into marijuana/ecig/vaping industry.

Its just hilarious to see addicts try to use the argument that "tobacco companies are trying to kill ecigs" reasoning when the whole thing is pushed by the tobacco companies.

Nicotine is neurotoxic after all and after a while you will feel like a brainlet.

Also it does something to the lungs, I'm not sure what but it's like ... like the smoke from cigarettes but without the smoke. Difficult to describe, but like there is some water buildup or something in the lungs.

My opinion: I use to smoke weed a lot for about a year. I haven't smoked in over 2 years and can function significantly better. I'm under the impression using weed a several times for novelty is more likely beneficial to just understand the experience, but prolonged use of marijuana definitely is a performance reducer. people that smoke weed habitually are aloft and appear to be groggy if not high, and while high, unable to do anything rationale.

it actually is unironically a surprise to me. the boomer generation smoked for the nicotine but died from the tar and carcinogens in combustible smoke.
