I'm not an atheist, sadly. I'm a pagan. Local nature spirits and all that rot, you know.

I have a few theories on your god. One is that there's a basic creative force which you ascribe some sort of will and personality to, and the other is that he's a regular joe god who's conned you into trying to get rid of other gods, and get all of humanity for himself.

I'm not really very certain of anything, of course. I'm probably delusional, but I decided I'd believe the hoodoo hallucinations just for fun.

I do take a miniscule amount of umbrage that when people say "science vs. religion", they always mean the monotheistic christian sort of thing. Personally, I would like to see some other religions be subjected to the rigours of debate.

Religion is, by somewhat sloppy definition, the belief in the supernatural origin of the universe and/or a creator. "Supernatural" means it cannot be explained by normal science.

I personally feel no presence of a God, or a need for one. I spent most of my life being religious, but, looking back, I can't say that I ever really felt like something was there.

There's also the fact that every religion is basically a clone of the previous one, when it comes down to it. I don't see a reason to believe in one religion that's just as successful as the next, and it's pretty obvious that it isn't too hard to get millions of people believing.
