Every year there's unethical scientists that experiment on people and violate human rights.
At the same time there's racist scientists that publish bad papers. These papers even go to NCBI. Science is being corrupted.
How do we stop this?
Do we need more ethics committees? Do we need a body of scientists who studied philosophy as a minor so they can see where the racism has been hidden in the research paper?

I just switched schools because being forced to take an ethics (philosophy) course is beneath me and a waste of time.

You need to do the right thing.

>nooooo don't teach me what's right and wrong
>don't teach me to think critically
>don't teach me to build a moral compass
Most philosophy they teach in that entry level ethics class is just utilitarianism or deontology. That has nothing to do with right or left wing propaganda. It's just the two basic ways you can make a decision.

They also teach you the scientific method. But you didn't learn it now.

No. Those losers will call anything fucking racist.. If we paint robots white, its a bias on what we consider beauty, if we paint them black it's our subconscious desire to own black things. Can't win to the illogical so best to just be ignored.

It can't be ignored. When you ignore a problem it doesn't go away.

So you think we should exterminate all the undesirables? This took a dark turn, but okay.

Not an issue, bait-posters are scum, and science disproves /pol/tards.

for actual humans: remember to sage your posts before replying to shit like this thread.

>> No.10877755

There are no true "racist scientists" that get published in large journals, there are only idiots online who try to cite papers without understanding what they mean. When someone from /pol/ cites a paper, 100% of the time the paper itself does not support what the shitposter says if you actually go and read the article. The people that make the racist propaganda rely on people not being able to go and check their sources.

Still articles like that can be found on NCBI which is dangerous because citing from NCBI gives you some legitimacy

I mentioned that stuff and then you probably went to Wikipedia and read two paragraphs and now you think you know it.
Take a 200~ hour course in that stuff before you talk.

Medicine is being held back by not allowing human experiments. Governments should allow scientific experimenting with inmates that are sitting in a death row, with necessary anesthesia of course. That way they could, in a way get a pardon for their wrongdoings in the eyes of the society. If you have taken life, you could that way perhaps help foster it.

A lot of the time when a controversial paper get published the author end up playing it safe in its conclusions, even going against the data in the paper itself.

For example the Psychology Reproduction Crisis paper has a very apologetic outlook despite the data presented painting a very grim prospective. In the end scientists are always a bit of a coward, and they always try to sweeten the pill.
It's basically the "10/10 it's ok" phenomenon.

this has the obvious problem of false convictions. it's unethical to ruin the life of even one innocent person in this fashion, even if the system works most of the time. that's why such a policy isn't implemented.
