Yes but one has the benefit of not involving literal magic.

Simulation hypothesis unironically turned me from an atheist into a theist/deist. I always wanted to believe, I just couldn't overcome the lack of logical proof until I heard the simulation argument. No sure how you go from "a higher being that created us exists" to "this book filled with ridiculously dumb myths written by semitic shepherds a few thousand years ago is the true word of God".

If you're persuaded by an insane, unfalsifiable hypothesis, you shouldn't be on this board

>> No.10847411

Like the universe cannot be collision of hyper-dimensional particles that have rules which makes universe looks like computer simulation.

Also people's mind are designed to perceive simulation out of "by computer" "normalized" world.

I'm persuaded by good arguments. And as far as I'm concerned the argument for simulation is rather elegant.

It's the worst possible argument. It just shifts all questions one layer up. If this Universe is a simulation on another Universe, which process created that one? All questions here will be applied there. And you can't say that its "simulations all the way up" same as you cant say its turtles all the way down.
Simulation theory is an exact copy of Creationism but also throws out the window anything relating to aseity, contingency and causality. Simulation always relies on an infinite string of entities or it is simply a convoluted subtype of Creationism.

Friendly reminder that the halting problem PROVES that the simulation hypothesis is LITERALLY A LOGICAL IMPOSSIBILITY. So unless there is more than one world logic we are pretty much alone and the only version of ourselves that is around.
