I normally just start sending them papers where even the abstract will make them shit themselves, because hey, they fucking love science. They will either start looking up terms and actually learning or they'll shut the fuck up, so you can't really go wrong. Additionally, when they try to sound like know-it-alls in public and spout out "facts" which are completely incorrect, I'll point out the flaws (given that I know enough about the subject to know that I'm not being a dipshit), because that is what happens frequently in various fields of science, but hey they fucking love science so that's fucking life am I right?
