Dear Anons,

I appeal to the STEM Fags with this question:

Weed and Studying Stem (excluding biology), how do you reconcile the two?

Im a stoner, but I desire a degree in computer science. Do I have to quit? Or did any of you make it?

Btw, I can study forever and free of cost. Germany lets you study for free. I also have rich parents so I neednt work.

I have all the time and money in the world. Can I achieve a master's in computer science and continue getting baked a lot? If so how?

Love,

Yoshi

EE student here. I used to be an avid user of weed having many study sessions and going into class high. While it surely is possible to do all this under the influence, it will make the process of learning a lot slower and more time will have to be dedicated to studying if you hope to do well on exams. Find a way to do it without letting it interfering with your learning. Also, if you are under 25 then doing it often could impede development in your frontal cortex and I would only do it once a week at the very most.

Cool, just wanted to make sure you weren't misguided. See too many fags that come into CS because they think "oh yeah computers yeah I play video games this is perfect for me" or "oh yeah, money. I'm gonna be rich even though I'm a massive normie and I don't give a shiz about technology or creativity or problem solving" and then they drop out when they realize they have to do math and think relatively hard. So many people drop out. Sick of passionlets.

You'll probably be able to pull it off while lighting it up if you're smart enough, but my advice, just quit dude, or at least keep it at low, infrequent doses. Stop handicapping yourself. Not gonna try to stop you tho.

It depends how old you are. Your brain isn't fully developed until you're about 25 years old, and even then it's just at a very slow rate of further development.

If you're still young you'll have to pay interest on the weed/hash you smoke later on in life.

>>10800857
Surprisingly from what I've read and heard from medical experts, memory impairment is an immediate and short to medium term result of smoking weed/hash/etc.

The long term damages are completely underrated. Psychosis and increased anxiety are the two notable long term damages of increased use of highly potent strains of Marijuana (it's not like the weed smoked in the 60s).

I don't mention Depression because everyone is depressed nowadays.

In my opinion, the worst thing about smoking Marijuana is the lifestyle that goes with it. Marijuana culture is completely degenerate. There might be a few outliers from the group of degenerates, but as an aggregate it's disgusting.

>to OP
Depending on the uni you go to, you can maybe pull it off. However, if you attend a slightly competitive uni, you'll get destroyed because CS and EECS is so impacted.

Good luck OP

It sucks to hear but no. I quit for a couple years and lost the desire but occasionally I’ll smoke with friends.

Weed has two things - makes you unable to think properly and puts you at risk for criminal prosecution.

Thinking improperly will make you act weird (high brilliance fallacy) and you will do bad in college.

Criminal stuff is self explanatory. You WILL NOT get hired with anything on your record. Do not do this to

I smoked a lot of weed as a community college student. Kicked that habit when I transferred to uni. It's not a good habit to have. In school you'll be busy enough already and weed just makes you complacent in doing nothing, which is not a habit you will want to have. You need to learn how to effectively manage your time and focus.

Don't wake and bake. Never smoke before going to class and plan your time carefully. With enough discipline it's not a big deal. I always treated weed as "reward" for getting shit done, which boosted my motivation and was actually was quite useful because I could finish my work quicker if I did it early.
However if you do CS not because of passion but boredom, you might have much harder time motivating yourself.

Weed is a gigantic waste of time, keep it up and you are going to start becoming delirious when you 420. All it does is artificially lower your iq and make being bored less insufferable. Find a productive hobby. You should switch to stimulants and psychedelics, just say no to pot, also say no to video games. Go outside and explore in your free time, not high on weed, you will just wander around aimlessly and want to sit down, you memory is going to be fucked.
The only thing that could justify habitual(more than a couple times a year) cannibus consumption is being a terminal patient.
If you want to laze around smoking pot all day, be a neet or a wageslave. Stoners do nothing but pollute communities of higher learning.

hi anon.
I am in a graduate level biochemistry program. I interact with all sorts of STEM graduate students.
Everyone smokes weed, does harder drugs, or drinks. Some daily, others weekly, all responsibly. I myself smoke weed every night, but only after all work is done. Do LSD about once every 4 months, and MDMA about once a month.
It's possible, but you have to be responsible. Cannot cheat yourself and smoke early, cannot make excuses. I smoked everyday in undergrad as well, graduated with a 3.92. Currently have 1 non-first author publication, and have smoked weed with my advisor. Drugs are very common at the research level

And its obviously harder to program on weed because you keep forgetting things, which is a bad trait to have as a programmer, since you usually need to keep a lot of data in your mind at a given time, which is very hard to accomplish on weed.

It is such a shame that this shit is illegal, or can only be obtained through a psychiatrist (ritaline, not amphetamine... well unless ure amerifag). Id love to try that, but I dont know any sources where i can get LSD (real lsd) from.. so. Also isnt LSD really expensive if you want to take it regularly? And what about the tolerance? I know that tolerance builds up very fast on lsd, but maybe its different if you microdose it.

>Id love to try that, but I dont know any sources where i can get LSD (real lsd) from..
Onions.
>so. Also isnt LSD really expensive if you want to take it regularly?
No, absolutely. I pay more for weed I manage to consume during trip than the LSD itself. It's like 10$ for 100ug. When you microdose, you take 1/6-1/10 of that, every ~3rd day, so it's nothing. I only take 1/6 every few months though.
>And what about the tolerance? I know that tolerance builds up very fast on lsd, but maybe its different if you microdose it.
On full dose, LSD tolerance builds up within hour or two and last ~2 weeks to baseline. But microdosing doesn't have that. In general when you microdose it, it feels more like stimulant than psychodelic, but it's really unique and interesting. Just don't overdo it or you'll spend your day listening to music and looking at patterns on the floor.
