The reason for vandalism is it's an outlet to prove one existed and force an undeniable, hard, experienced reality onto a dissociative apathetic culture that is not acknowledging or ridiculing discomfort or suffering.

That which destroys beauty and yet pretties itself up with a veneer of legitimacy, shall have its pretense destroyed. Contrast, is the purpose of vandalism.

Actually there are forms of brain damage which induce "persistence", such that the threshold for where the animal will stop and re-evaluate its course, is much higher. my friends used to beat up and mug people in the streets, steal from convenience stores and throw rocks at people and cars while driving.
I live in a "nice" neighborhood so all of my friends had a lot of money, the cruelest guy had the most money. The thrill and excitement of hurting someone and making something illegal was better than any other drug, you could feel everybody's heart beating extremely fast with the eyes wide open after hurting someone innocent, it was better than any other drug.
My rich friends dad was very abusive, he beat up my friend every week after he came back home drunk, his mother never intervened or said anything no matter how awful the beating was.
My other friend is an unwanted son, both his parents got rid of him and gave it to her rich grandmother, both of them moved to different states while he was raised in the living room where he slept and always had his luggage ready as if he was just visiting over.
they are god awful people but I grew up with them and I think they just needed some love in their lives.
