How could we theoretically prevent the heat death of the universe, or, failing that, survive past it?

you know, this would be a sensible topic to discuss once we are at least capable of moving entire star systems around without breaking a sweat energy budget wise and of course have FTL and a host of other just as likely to exist technologies available to us

Nothing because the heat death is some bullshit that requires several unjustified assumptions to prove.

Yeah sure, I'm certain gravity will just stop working just for funs.
The real problem is surviving all matter collapsing in a single point and the big bag happening again.
Unlikely, unless we somehow find a way with quantum mechanics.

You could help end entropy and the heat death of the universe. All you have to do is sign a contract.

You can save everyone from entropy. Don't you want to do it? Just one little contract and that's it!

Universe is infinite in time, scope and depth. There will be no heat death or big crunch. New matter is constantly bubbling up from the quantum foam. Our resources here are infinite. Human has already passed through the filter. Our future is infinite if we want it to be. Reason for the Fermi paradox is because of infinite scale; infinite aliens and infinite hyper-civilizations that make us look like ants in comparison, but also infinite space separating us. OPTIMUM

Find some new source of energy to reverse/slow down the eventual equilibrium. Maybe use things like qualia or emotionally based energy and harvest that energy. Imagine if you could harvest the energy from all the tears of emotional little girls? Wouldn't that be a wonderful source of energy to save the universe?

Our ancestors did not simply sit back and go with the flow just because most of the fruits of their labor are only being reaped now. If they had said "who cares, I'll be dead in the future anyway" and continued to sit around and scratch their ass all day like you do, you'd still be living in a mud hut right now. Your backward worldview must be fought at every turn if human progress is to continue.

The truth is that you can't. Everything will eventually die. However, what is the next best step could be integrating our physical brains into a virtual reality that can simulate a time span that would be slower than reality. It would be like how your dreams can sometimes feel like only a few minutes only the complete opposite. A week would go by in the real world but could feel like 30 years within the machine.

>> No.10795391

>>10791738
I don't know anything about eternalism and have nothing to back up my belief that can be supported with meaningful evidence, but I deeply believe that the universe as we know it has been in an endless loop alone with infinite variations of it all happening within a linear timeline and the energy that makes up everything is consistently being recycled into new forms with each beginning and end of the universe.

For something as complex as this, there is little opportunity for this to be a remote event that can only occur once and the energy remains the same in alternating forms throughout each cycle.

So I'd say that you are you now, and eventually what makes up you will become the gas particles on a far away planet, then maybe grains of dust floating in air, etc., but eventually you are you again and maybe you've been everyone and everything else already (or will be at some point). I am not spiritual, but I just feel this essence of grandeur from being able to witness and understand the universe and I think there's many variables we have no capabilities to even fathom in the works

This fact about eternalism has always bothered me
Given that we have this illusion of the passage of time, yet the present doesn't exist, that probably means our subjective experience repeats itself eternally, like a film that rewinds every time it finishes.
While some may find that uplifting, in the sense that we never really die and the lives we experience are eternal, there's the terrible realization that people who lead awful lives are in eternal, timeless suffering.

>> No.10799180

We have tons of time on our hands to solve that issue. The more pressing matter is ensuring the continued survival of humanity and habitability on this planet, to that end we need to end the tyranny of The Eternal Jew.

But to add to the discussion, I believe the answer lies in literally physically manipulating the universe itself. To create some sort of equilibrium state where the universe constantly is able to sustain life. TLDR: Recycling
