Nice try, but unfortunately you're both incorrect. This is the objectively correct ranking. You're free to disagree, but you cannot refute this.

my heart says Galois but my brain says Euler

I cant speak of the greatest, but I can say I like i enjoy their writing orr their proofs. Now unforunately most great mathematicians don't write as much as they should, but John Conway, Paul Halmos, and Michael Atiyah have greatly shaped my interests and skill with their wonderful books that usually target upper undergrad/basic masters level stuff.

In terms of their theorems and shit, Eulers various identities for modular arithmetic is great. Afred Tarski has probably done the most to shape the fields I think about on a daily basis, since I love logic, algebra, and linguistics.

euler is clearly far and above the most prolific mathematician of all time
on a tier below you have gauss, newton, and euclid, along with maybe a few others.

do you know his life story? dude had a fuckton of kids, went blind, all kinds of shit. and he still worked on mathematics from all over the cutting edge for his entire life. he's simultaneously one of the most brilliant and motivated people ever to live. truly transcendental.
i mean fuck, just look at some of the results he comes up with! all without having the proper formalism in front of him, and he doesn't give a shit, he invents all the formalism! even if it wasn't very formal at times, it was all completely correct and founded. people become household names because they discover one thing that euler had already discovered beforehand, dozens of people, because euler already has hundreds of astonishing discoveries.
