Look here: even if I didn't solve the Riemann hypothesis with this, this is a good new result that I found. I did solve RH with this, and it is stupid to cite the definition of Reals from 1872 with regards to a problem from 1858, but even if you don't concede that I solved the big problem, I did show something new here, and it should appear in the literature.

you're right, but in my experience in academia so far, i don't get them very "regularly", only once every few months or maybe once or twice a year (maybe professors get them more?) and so it can be a bit of a shock the first time you get one, plus yours are a bit more edgy than the typical "Abdul Bin Mohammad Al-Salam" saying "Dear Proffesor, I have a new thoery about the rate of rotation of the earth; a day is really 2ce as long as we thing but here are 20 paragraphs of porly spelled arguments and 0 equations to prove it, praise Allah". iirc yours was like "haha, checkin in from Occupy, you guys thought you had the higgs spin right but haha, check out equations 1-23, down with Wall Street! peace, 762 represent" so a bit off the typical path
