The worst possible existence I can think of is being immortal and watching everyone die around me. My friends, family and then even my own children would grow old and die. It'd be absolutely crushing to experience.

This isn't the natural order of things and we're not ready to have extended lives.

Read the culture books by Ian M Banks and tell me that isn’t a world you’d want to live in

watching my family and friends die would be pretty sad, but i'd get over it. I'd just make new friends and new family, shouldn't be a problem with all the time on my hands.

Yeah, ok so just because my kids, family and friends have to die means i should go down with them? Sounds retarded, i'd rather take my immortality, their memory will live on inside me maybe i'll even visit their graves once in a hundred years if i feel like it. You can go ahead and die if that's what you prefer.

>That's right, good goyim just accept your demise
There were trillions of minds that have existed that fear death.
Immortality has always been the goal. I'm sure immortality has already been solved and you long noses are keeping it secret. That is why you long noses made christianity and other religions--to force the goyim to accept their own demise and give up the search of the goal that every cell in their body longs for since birth.

lol then kill yourself nobody's forcing you to live in any case. Also, if we crack the secret to life-extension you won't watch anyone die around you, they'll live extended lives as well.
Even if it was just you I'm pretty sure "ugh everyone I know is dying around me ugh why am I cursed so" is just a gay meme for melodramatic people.

Lol, just make new friends you dumb bitch. Also if your immediate family dies, you will likely still get to hang out with siblings, nephews, your children, cousins, etc. It's not the end of the world when your loved ones die. Plenty of people get over it.

who cares, you can always make new friends and children.

Think of all the math you can do if you are immortal.
that would be pretty legit.

>why do you not want to die?
I mean, if life extension becomes a thing you don't have to watch your friends and family die, they'll get their lives extended too
Besides, you'll literally have all the time you need to cope
Also, life extension doesn't mean you can't peacefully end your life at the age of 300 or 2000 years

Retarded scenario. Imagine instead that they also never die. You’ve basically imagined a “vampire” scenario rather than a “Technology has rendered senescence a non-Factor” scenario

Smartest anon so far.
Even if we find a cure for aging, death still will happen. You can't erase death (accidents will keep happening). Moreover, being immortal but keeping a crippling body of a 110 years old human for centuries might not be the greatest gift...

God's will is more likely that we resist to evil as much as we can while spreading good, and after our mortal condition ends, we'll be rewarded accordingly (life might be a test & death a door for something else, unknown to mortals)

we should be more concerned with tracking consciousness and "souls" or personal individualities, but then this sort of veers off into philosophical-theoretical conceptions of life, existence, the nature of pre-birth, consciousness, etc.

ultimately the notion of life extension in scientific development must be complemented with study of the consciousness in all areas possible

And?
>Equip Thrusto-Cock V200
>It stops working in thirty years

>HDDs "die" & lose information

Occurs literally every Planck second. Continuity is an illusion conferred by memory.

At some point true immortality or your physical being unable to be rendered into a state of unconsciousness should be possible. If you brain cant be damaged you will never actually die.

I strongly believe that we should focus more on making the experience better than longer for the sake of it. (don't get me wrong : BOTH can be done simultaneously, but one is, imo, more interesting to pursue than the other)
