"infinite growth" is a meme. The problem is frivolous consumerism.
Not all creation of wealth is equally harmful. If you write a book. That has a very low ecological footprint and yet it can be just as much entertainment as a TV show (actually probably much better entertainment.
The problem is not "infinite growth" but rather a mindlessly consumerist culture and more importantly the fact that we are not currently taxing negative externalities appropriately.
