Fuck science and technology. Who else here agrees that more research in science and engineering is the last thing anyone needs? While science helps develop technologies that allow people live a more carefree and healthy life, it also dehumanizes and produces more unhappiness. It exacerbates problems in society that will only become more pronounced as time goes on, and any physicist who doesn't recognize that they're complicit in this system is woefully ignorant. The current globalist system is utilizing universities as glorified R&D facilities and think-tanks, and as long as that's the case, your research will become a mere a tool of oppression in the end.

I'm an engineer, I just recognize that the current system we have in place causes technology to be used in detrimental ways. We don't have to become a children of the forest to prevent this.

Basically. Science should be something controlled, not an utterly free exchange of ideas for the benefit of corporations.

It's also not improbable that the paradigm we find ourselves in, the industrial-capitalist complex, gives way to a different paradigm before a major societal collapse.

That, or a collapse is part of the progression.

Technology is net positive to welfare. You can try to weaponize things, but the reality is that apps are the current gestalt emergence factor toward singularity landmarks. Everything else is necessarily moving slower than the mobile app market, and even that is climaxing as we speak.

You think there are infinite paths, and most of them lead to bad outcomes, but there aren't infinite paths. That's a lie you believe for some other reason. You've never once intended to think rationally about what would trigger a technological singularity or you'd already have adopted my opinions without having to have met or talked to me.

It WAS easier to destroy than create. But there are only a finite number of chances to change that before utopia sets in for good.
