In 2012, the National Institutes of Health–AARP Diet and Health Study analysed the relationship between coffee drinking and mortality. They found that higher coffee consumption was associated with lower risk of death, and that those who drank any coffee lived longer than those who did not.

A 2014 meta-analysis found that coffee consumption (4 cups/day) was inversely associated with all-cause mortality (a 16% lower risk), as well as cardiovascular disease mortality specifically (a 21% lower risk from drinking 3 cups/day)

Additional meta-analysis studies corroborated these findings, showing that higher coffee consumption (2–4 cups per day) was associated with a reduced risk of death by all disease causes

Barely any effect on me unless I go cold turkey for like five days, or if I pound two yerba mates. If I have even a cup of tea while I’m on adderall it makes me irritable and mentally fried for the whole day so I have to b me careful anyways. as you keep drinking it on a daily basis you develop tolerance to it which means you need higher doses each time to get its effects till its just too unhealthy to keep drinking

Can anyone explain this shit to me:

If I have a cup of coffee in the morning, later on in the day (think really later on... 6-10 PM), I always begin to feel the onset of some sort of panic attack. I start feeling heart palpitations and shortness of breath. However, if I have an energy drink (redbull, monster, whatever) in the morning in place of the coffee I feel perfectly fine all day, and sleep like a baby.

What could cause this?? It's something I've observed since I was in high school (nearing 30 y/o boomer status now), which is why I've always made it a point to avoid coffee.

>It's not intelligence that makes coffee negligible. It's autism.
True for many autists, but not all. Some autists are hypersensitive to it, including myself. Some find coffee is nice but probably for other reasons than normies. Schizos, bipolars etc. love coffee because it can make them hypomanic. When blood concentration of caffeine is on the rise you feel a dopamine rush. Lotsa coffee gives that lovely stressed out chaotic feeling that creatives like.

I am not an expert, but it could be a problem of assumption: basically caffeine absorption in the brain cells does not follow a linear path, but a more spiked and gradual one. L-theanine is a chemical found in tea (especially green tea) that stabilizes that "path" of absorption, which is also the reason why in most focus supplements they are used together.
To sum up, if your brain is so retarded to absorb caffeine so late after the assumption you are gonna get a "spike" and feel the entire power and side-effects of caffeine in a shorter period of time

Monster = fuck-loads of sugar + caffeine
Coffee = caffeine

All the sugar from Monster (or other) is giving you sugar crash, making you lethargic, tired, and able to sleep. Coffee doesn't have this sugar, so you're just left with the caffeine withdrawal.

I can't focus on work at all (not diagnosed add), but after 200mg of caffeine I can get right into the flow for 3-4 hours 75% of the time. Works better if I eat carbs along with it.

I am fairly addicted, having switched to pure caffeine powder several years ago. I'll straight up eat a scoop of the substance and flush it down with water first thing in the morning. It gives me a rush of positivity and I welcome that in my otherwise uncomfortable headspace.

There are benefits, caffeine is one of the few things you can consume to completely negate being tired.
Drinking caffeine will not only stimulate you with stamina, but will also block receptors that make you tired, essentially making tiredness impossible, and only limiting you to shit like running so much you can't keep up anymore or overthinking something so much that you go into sensory overload.
Great substance, however more than that it won't really make you process shit faster.

Can someone explain this to me. If I don't have any coffee a long time to the point where I'm no longer dependent/no withdrawals, I feel very hyperactive. I just want to go outside and run, play a sport, etc. I'm bursting with energy, yet I can't sit down for too long/read/study or I get restless.

If I drink coffee, it's the opposite. Rather than having a lot of physical energy, I get mental energy. I can easily sit down and read or do something more productive. Coffee usually gives people energy but it calms me down.

Is it because I have ADHD or something? If I didn't drink coffee, I would want to become an athlete. But when I do, I want to do something more productive.
