The truth is that the average human is extremely intelligent being. Consider the fact that there are millions of species on Earth, and humans are clearly the smartest. In fact, there is a massive gap to the second place. Moreover, even out-right retards with 70-ish IQs show baffling intellectual abilities like being able to speak, draw pictures, understand simple movie plots etc. And the average human with 100 IQ is even a notch smarter than that.

Because if you're smart you're even less likely to havee sex&children than an average person. Also people don't care about intelligence (not speaking about IQ but just the thing we call "smartness" like "dat guy's smart") of their own and their kids, pursuing things like sports and social skills the time their brains are still malleable and capable of achieving higher (to some degree) productivity.

From some point of view I can say that I'm smart but I know if my parents didn't invest into this I'd probably be more social but dumber, and actually happier as social anxiety or whatever it is is an unpleasant thing.
I know many people can into both things but keep in mind that thinking is not a universal thing everyone wants to do (like having money or sex or b happy or etc), it's actually a hard and energy-consuming thing.

Also dumb people are easier to control so we're not likely to see a new Renaissance while alive.
