If the body can detect it, then that is a physical instrument, making it a physical quantity that can be physically measured with another instrument. If it is all a manifestation of the mind resulting from a hormonal soup the brain stews in, then it is not a physical property of the universe, may be as different an experience as their are brains, cannot be measured with a physical instrument, and will one day be simulated in an AI sufficiently enough to pass a turning test.
