Nelson Mandela is alive and well, however many people remember him passing away in prison in the 1980s. Some even claim to have witnessed tv coverage of his funeral. The collective memories of phenomena that never happened has now been under the coined term, the 'Mandela' effect. Recurring cases of the Mandela effect indicate a possibility of timeline interference. Please share any cases you know about or have seen!

Here is one about a supposed movie Shazam from the 90s. A video rental owner claimed people returned this movie to him saying it didnt work. https://www.newstatesman.com/science-tech/internet/2016/12/movie-doesn-t-exist-and-redditors-who-think-it-does

The biggest problem with any explanation of the Mandela effect that isn't memory issues is that it's unfalsifiable.

My only Mandela effect was when someone on 4chan said that Japan had been moved up in the world map, and then I was shocked to confirm that Japan indeed is nowadays located extremely north, almost touches the Korean peninsula. Previously it was vertically in level with China with lots of distance to Korea.

Japan is very worried about NK aggression so that woudn't make sense on a political scale

I think I'm more spooked by how unreliable and programmable human memory is than by the possibility I'm in an alternate dimension.

I remember that movie though. It starred Shaquille O'neal

You can't even trust memory consistently for events that people witness themselves. Why would you base an entire idea off some shit that people only think they remember from their childhoods?

Does anyone else remember the Simpsons episode where robots took over the world and a character said "I for one welcome our new robotic overlords"?

This never happened. It was alien ants and the quote is now "I for one welcome our new insect overlords".
