>how do so many people do that to themselves
Because capitalism forces people to work or starve. Also, isn't this more of a politics thread?

People are gonna take shit they're familiar with rather than change something to fix it.

Most people can't figure out how else to make any money. You're just lucky to be born in a cunt where NEETdom is possible.

Competition for scarce resources
Go to any time in history, you see this is reality for all lifeforms
You are fortunate to be a species that will take of it's own en masse enough that you don't die when you stop pulling your weight

Now it makes sense. Why did the author phrase it in such an autistic manner?

It's not that they "try to be a wage slave", it's that they don't try hard enough or early enough to be anything else.

Since politics is the way in which human beings organize and govern themselves, politics is inseparable from any area of human endeavor, including of course science. 4chan mods and janitors are therefore always in the wrong when they delete political threads from any other board, for any reason. Politics are always relevant to everything that humans do, think, make, draw, are involved in, care about.

Work is necessary for a society to function, so you shouldn't complain. If you don't like to work, then your only method of survival is leeching and stealing. Maybe you could otherwise go back into the wilderness and attempt to live a satisfying life.

Everyone works, but only idiots get into wageslaving. If you're not investing your youth studying your interests, understanding how society functions, and practising skills, then can you even complain that your life turns out shit? Go figure most wagies are all idiots, either intellectually or in nature, and you all deserve nothing more. "Find a job you love and you'll never need to work a day in your life." It also doesn't help that most wagies have no sort of impulse control and can't manage their income. They all need the latest phone, or more furniture, or clothes of the latest fashion. Perhaps you're just unfortunate, and your lifestyle was beyond your control, which in that case is sad. But most of the time, wagies are stuck in their position because they didn't try to escape it before entering it because they either didn't want to work hard early on or were too caught up in the moment to care about the future. Do you think school lasts 12 years just so you can learn common knowledge? You're suppose to spend your free time there preparing for the workforce and maturing socially and emotionally, especially in the last few years. It's not surprise that people who spent all their free time playing video games, partying, or being a rebellious piece of shit end up wagies. You fucked up in life the moment you kept having fun before you finished your homework or chores. Every successful person either finishes works before they play, or are gifted, and you aren't gifted.

You seem not to understand what a wagie is, mistaking the lower-wagie as representative of the wagie per se. A CEO is still a wagie, for example. In general, if you're working, you're a wagie, even if you like your job.

A CEO is not a 'wagie' because they wouldn't be a CEO if they didn't want to be. I'm using wagie to describe people that are forced to work in jobs they don't want to and are very unsatisfied, as you'd expect from people that don't bother with life and just wing it hoping for the best.

Thank you for more clearly demonstrating that you don't understand the terms that you're using and are using wagie in the selective sense, proving my point. I declare victory in our exchange and, having done so, will refrain from posting further. Anything more from you will be gibbering which will not require address.

I'd rather own a small house and some land outside the city, and live closer to a subsistence farming lifestyle. Sounds boring to most people, but it sounds refreshing and appealingly simple to me. Waging means you need to get all your wagie licenses, to drive and use a vehicle to go to work, to get groceries from the store, etc. Capitalist energy economy culture is suffocating, but maybe this is just a grass is greener thing I'm not appreciating.

Idk man I don't make much money and the job is stressful so I smoke weed and cigarettes. I'm slowly starting to actually save though. It's amazing the difference a few dollars is (not much any)
