no, the human body is designed around running the way the A10 warthog is designed around its autocannon. Running will make you think faster and has virtually no risks unless you do it for 20 hours straight til your heart starts deconstructing. Any shaking is well within the design limits of your body. It's the safest and most effective way to overclock your brain. Or at least that's been my experience

Yes, it could be too much. Everyone is different. If you're an out of shape, weak, lumpy, fatty, then everything will be more taxing, difficult and strenuous... just to maintain health will be hard. Some physical activity everyday is good for maintenance, even if it's just walking. You probably won't live past 60 if you can't walk around without becoming winded.

It's simple really. The human body is incredibly resilient, the healthier one is.

However, if someone is out of shape and/or gasping for air over a long period of time. It probably does affect the heart/brain negatively. If you have dysfunctional breathing, getting dizzy or you see blood pouring from your nose, or anything else abnormal/painful... then it's probably not a good thing to continue.

There is a reason why a lot of senior citizens take up swimming.

Join the United States Masters Swimming program.

They are kind to newbies and have a lot of experience, training out of shape old folks how to swim safely and efficiently.

Originally started for young people but then program expanded to senior citizens as it gained in popularity.

High chance of meeting ex professional swimmers or coaches or amateur pro swimmers who can give you a lot of great advice.

No pressure to race competitively despite the name of the program but if you get good enough, there are amateur tournaments for those with a competitive drive.

Not unless it's a really severe shake, something like whiplash can literally damage your brain by bouncing it off the inside of your skull, but you can't get that kind of thing from running or lifting. If you just pump some iron and run a mile every day or swim laps and bike and other shit like that you can only really experience good effects (obviously barring you fucking up and injuring yourself). If you overstress your cardiovascular system by forcing your body too far beyond its limits like bodybuilders you'll be putting yourself at higher risks of circulatory system related brain injuries, if you run marathons every single week or shit like that you'll fuck your knees and hips up and spend your twilight years in constant pain, but you'd have to basically dedicate almost all of your life and time to exercise for it to reach the point where it's going to do you permanent physical damage.

I'm not going to search for the paper but I read a study that said caridovascular exercise was one of the only known way to combat age related brain deterioration. The paper pretty much surmised that cardiovascular exercise increases blood flow to the brain which has a positive effect combating age related degeneration.

The answer is simple. Its "no". If you are someone with zero cardio, getting into good shape is incredibly important, so much so that any small negative effect is immediatly outweighed by the positives.

If you think that walking would have any significant increase in your heart rate then maybe. The increased blood flow to your brain is a result of elevating your heart rate through exercise. Walking probably isn't going to do shit. You could do intense swimming and that would probably achieve the desired effect for instance.

Exercise also promotes better sleep and memory retention but that's a whole separate discussion. That's why a lot of CEO's have personal trainers and will get a workout in everyday before work.
