I don't like the idea of spacetime because it violates my personal belief in physicalism or realism or whatever you want to call it. It violates formal logic, as something can not be nothing. I am open to the idea that spacetime is a real physical medium of some kind that may continue to evade detection, so something with identical or near identical properties to what he calls spacetime may exist, but not spacetime as defined by Einstein. That's all I can say.
